The first thing you notice about this wine is its subtle and complex nose.These strong aromatic characteristics carry through onto the palate and the experience is a combination of floral notes and citrus – limes and lemons.The wine is dry with a clean, acid finish.It drinks well by itself but goes beautifully with foods such as fish and Asian dishes.
2008 Kabinett Riesling
This Riesling is made in the German style.The grapes were picked a little later to give a mature, full bodied flavour and there is a small amount of residual sugar to give a hint of sweetness.As with the great German Rieslings, the secret is in the balance of sugar and acid to ensure a crisp finish.Drink it by itself on a warm afternoon, or with pan fried scallops or cheese.
